IMPROV IN ACTION

Client: Executive Training Program, Large Advertising Agency

The need: An HR Executive Director needed a kickoff event for a 6-month executive training program designed to engage and challenge the agency’s top young talent. They were searching for a way to help the team quickly get to know each other, practice thinking on their feet, and help each member find their voice.

The result: The event was a success, as the HR Executive Director reported seeing significant improvement in the group on all strategic objectives, and participants rated the event 5/5 on a variety of key measures on a post-program survey. Olivine's improv workshop has since become the program's annual kick-off event.

Client: Account Executive Group Training Event, Large Advertising Agency

The need: This Account Executive Director was looking for a training event for a group of 60 employees across a range of seniority levels. Due to the fact that it was a heavily client-facing group, the client wanted to focus on developing the group’s listening skills as well as empowering lower ranking members to share their ideas in front of leaders.

The result: Olivine split the large group into four separate classrooms to ensure all team members received a best-in-class experience. The event culminated with a surprise all-groups show, in which each of the teams took the stage to perform for the rest of the group. Participants raved about the event in evaluations, and during our post-event check-in, the Executive Director reported observing better listening within the group and a higher propensity for lower-ranking members of the group to speak up in front of clients and agency leadership.

“With Improv, Jerry encourages people to fail beautifully, to be in the moment and to forget about judgement and expectations. I have watched people gain confidence, become better presenters and become secure in their own abilities. With teams this brings a shared vulnerability and trust and brings teams closer together, supporting each other and having fun along the journey.."
